TYPES OF TREATMENT

High-Tech Orthodontics

At NoVA Orthodontics, we offer state-of-the-art treatment to correct a variety of dental and jaw problems. Common orthodontic problems that we treat include:

  • Crowded teeth
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Protruding teeth
  • Overbite
  • Underbite
  • Crossbite
  • Impacted teeth

Traditional Metal Braces

Our “mini” stainless steel braces have a low profile and can be enhanced with a variety of colors. These braces are most popular with children and adolescents.

Clear Ceramic Braces

Clarity ceramic brackets are tooth colored and barely noticeable. These braces are great for patients who don't want much metal to show on their teeth.

Dento-Facial Orthopedics

For growing children, orthopedic treatment can be used to change the size and shape of the jaws when they are mis-aligned. This growth modification can correct a crossbite, underbite, or overbite. Examples of orthopedic treatment are palatal expanders, bite plates, and headgear.

Orthognathic Surgery

For adult patients who are no longer growing, orthondontic treatment can be used in conjunction with oral surgery to correct severe skeletal problems. Adults who have mis-aligned jaws can benefit greatly from this combined orthodontic/surgical treatment. The orthodontist will use braces to straighten the teeth, and then the oral surgeon will re-position the jaws.

What is Invisalign and how does it work?

Invisalign uses the latest technology to give you the smile you've always wanted. Invisalign straightens your teeth with a series of clear, custom-molded, removable aligners without anyone knowing!

Invisalign straightens your teeth with results you'll notice sooner than you think. The course of treatment involves changing aligners every two weeks, moving your teeth into straighter position step by step, until you have a more beautiful smile. And unlike braces, these clear aligners can be removed while you eat and brush your teeth.

An average Invisalign treatment takes less than a year. You'll see Dr. Djeu every 4 to 6 weeks for adjustments and to check progress. At regular intervals, you'll receive a new set of aligners to continue the straightening process. The total number of aligners is specific to you, depending on the severity of your malocclusion.

Clear. And comfortable

Since Invisalign is practically invisible, there's no unwarranted attention to your mouth. In fact, very few people will notice at all - unless you tell them. They're comfortable to wear and remove easily when you eat, brush, and floss.
